For over thirty years, George L. Sands, Jr., a life long Andersonian, has provided diligent legal service to the residents and businesses of Anderson and surrounding counties. His practice and experience ranges from transactional law to litigation in corporate and business law, real estate, family law, elder law and estate and probate law.
Mr. Sands graduated from The Citadel and then spent four years in military service prior to completing law school at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is admitted to practice by the South Carolina Supreme Court, United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Sands has been very involved in civic affairs. He served a number of years on the Board of the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce; as President and Board member of Anderson Heritage, Inc.; the Board of Visitors of Anderson University; Board of Family Connections; the Anderson Advisory Board of The Palmetto Bank; Board of In-Dwellings, Inc.; Rotary International; Anderson Board of Architectural Review; the Anderson County Citizens Zoning Board; Anderson Habitat for Humanity; Anderson Literacy Board; and as officer and director of many Anderson County businesses. Mr. Sands has been honored for his work with the Anderson County schools by the State of South Carolina and by South Carolina Special Olympics for his work with special needs children.
