Firm Background

Neil Carnow a.i.a. Architect was founded in 1983 in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. The office moved to Ossining, New York in 1985.

Principal

Neil Carnow is a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Pratt Institute in 1972 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Neil worked for the firm of Matthew J. Warshauer during the 1970’s working on such projects as the Mid-Westchester and Southern Westchester Executive Parks, Tallyrand and the Tarrytown Executive Park.

In 1980, Neil became the “in-house” architect and Assistant Vice President of Construction for
Rose Associates. During this time, he worked on such projects as The Bay Club, The Colonnade and Madison Green (all luxury high rise condos).

Neil has been a member and Chairman of the Croton-on-Hudson Planning Board, has worked with the United Jewish Appeal to provide consulting design services in Israel, and was a panel member for the Practicing Law Institute

Project Manager

Neil’s son Ian joined the firm in 1998 and is now the office Project Manager. A graduate of New York Institute of Technology, he graduated Suma Cum Laude and received the Matthew W. Del Gaudio award for Demonstrated Excellence. Ian is an accredited LEED®AP and working toward completion of the ARE.

Professional Associations

• Past member of the Shrub Oak Concepts Committee charged with arriving at a comprehensive mast plan of the Shrub Oak community incorporating all of the newly proposed development projects.

• Panel member for the Practicing Law Institute on the subject of Current Developments in Cooperative and Condominium Practice. Specifically, Neil provided an in depth analysis of the working relationship between the Attorney and the Architect in preparing offering plan documentation and obtaining tax lot certifications from the New York City Finance Administration.
